Employment Law: Semester Clerkship Program – 2 days per week

WestmoreJacobs is a boutique employment law firm that punches above its weight.

Most of the firm’s clients are employers with around 200 to 600 staff. Small business clients are generally limited to professional services such as IT, accounting and legal services. WestmoreJacob’s focus is performing “quality work for quality clients”.

The position


Requirements of the role include:

  • completing your final or penultimate year; or
  • completing PLT in the last 6 months or near completion.

Other requirements include:

  • an ability to work from our Kew East offices, 832 High Street, on Thursdays (Fridays are working from home);
  • an average of at least 70% in law subjects; and
  • an interest in employment law, having studied it at University.

How to apply


Applicants should include their resume, academic transcript, and a covering letter of no more than one page. The letter should clearly set out three dot points, addressing the following:

  • the candidate’s current average academic score in law subjects studied at University, expressed as a percentage;
  • whether the candidate is comfortable working for a firm that mostly acts for employers, including in factually sensitive matters; and
  • why the candidate is interested in employment law.
